Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 May 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Nordic — Social Stars website (nordicoslo.com, nordic-bachata.vercel.app) and your participation in the event held 4–8 June 2026 at Sentralen in Oslo, Norway. By visiting the site, creating an account, or purchasing a ticket, you accept these Terms together with the Privacy Policy.
1. Service Provider
This website and the event are operated by:
2. Tickets and Payment
- All ticket prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout and include applicable Norwegian VAT.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number — only Stripe's tokenised payment reference.
- A ticket is personal and tied to the name and email used at purchase. Resale or transfer requires our written approval.
- Your ticket grants access to the workshops, parties, and activities listed for the pass tier you purchased. Minor changes to the published programme (artist substitutions, room reassignments) may occur.
- Once payment is confirmed, you receive a QR-coded ticket and an Apple/Google Wallet pass by email.
3. Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing to hello@nordicbachata.no.
- Tickets are generally non-refundable within 30 days of the event. Earlier cancellations may be refunded subject to a small administrative fee — the exact terms are listed at checkout.
- If we cancel the event for reasons within our control, ticket holders receive a full refund of the ticket price.
- If we cancel for reasons outside our control (force majeure, government order, venue closure, public-health restrictions), refunds may be reduced or replaced with a credit toward a future event. We will communicate the exact terms in writing.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe, typically within 5–10 business days.
Norwegian consumer law (angrerettloven) does not generally apply to tickets for events on a specified date — but we will always honour mandatory consumer protections that do apply.
4. Account and Authentication
If you create an attendee account (via Google or Apple OAuth), you are responsible for the security of the linked provider account. We may suspend access if we suspect unauthorised use or fraud. You can sign out at any time, and your session expires automatically after the periods listed in the Privacy Policy.
5. Code of Conduct
We are committed to a safe, inclusive event for every dancer. By attending, you agree to:
- Treat fellow dancers, staff, instructors, and venue personnel with respect.
- Ask before initiating physical contact, including a dance.
- Accept “no” gracefully — in any context, from anyone.
- Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or any conduct that creates an unsafe environment.
- Follow venue rules and instructions from staff.
Violations may result in removal from the event without refund. Serious violations will be reported to law enforcement. If you experience or witness misconduct, contact a staff member or email hello@nordicbachata.no.
6. Photography and Filming
The event will be photographed and filmed by official media for promotional purposes. By attending, you consent to your image appearing in event coverage (social media, marketing materials, highlight reels). If you do not consent, notify staff at check-in — we will note your preference and exclude you from promotional material to the extent reasonably possible.
Personal, non-commercial photos by attendees are welcome, provided you respect others' preferences and do not disrupt workshops or performances.
7. User-Generated Content
If you submit content via the onboarding wizard, attendee directory, or any admin tool — including text, images, suggestions, or messages — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that content for the purpose of operating the event and website. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to whatever you upload, and that it does not infringe any third party's rights.
8. Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Attempt to bypass authentication, role checks, or access controls.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the site or its infrastructure without prior written authorisation.
- Interfere with site availability (e.g., automated requests beyond reasonable use, denial-of-service attempts).
- Upload malware, illegal content, or content that infringes others' rights.
- Resell tickets above face value, or transfer them in violation of Section 2.
- Use the site or event branding in a way that suggests official affiliation without our written permission.
9. Intellectual Property
All website content (text, logos, photographs, schedule data, brand marks) is owned by Nordic Bachata Events AS or licensed from contributors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use such as sharing your own attendance on social media.
The “Nordic — Social Stars” name and visual identity are unregistered trademarks of the operator.
10. Disclaimers
The website and event are provided on an “as is” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the website, particularly for live features during the event. We do not warrant that the site is error-free or that defects will be corrected immediately.
Dance carries inherent physical risk. By participating, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk and confirm you are medically fit for physical activity.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Norwegian law, our total liability arising from your use of the website or attendance at the event is limited to the price you paid for your ticket. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including loss of profit, loss of data, travel costs, or accommodation costs — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
This limitation does not apply to liability for personal injury caused by negligence, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory Norwegian law.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes will first be attempted resolved through good-faith negotiation. If that fails, the courts of Oslo (Oslo tingrett) have exclusive jurisdiction.
Consumers retain the right to bring disputes before their local competent court and to use alternative dispute-resolution mechanisms under mandatory consumer-protection law.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. For ticket holders, material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the site or attendance at the event after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
