FAQ

Your Questions, Answered

What is Nordic — Social Stars?

A social bachata and zouk festival in Oslo, Norway, returning July 28 – August 2, 2027 at Sentralen. International teaching artists and 11 socials across multiple rooms.

When and where is Nordic — Social Stars 2027?

July 28 – August 2, 2027 across two Oslo venues — Sentralen (our main venue at Øvre Slottsgate 3, 0157 Oslo) and Møllergata 9 (our second venue, details coming soon). Sentralen is a historic culture house in the heart of Oslo, two minutes from Karl Johan and five from Oslo Central Station. Workshops and socials span five rooms at Sentralen. The full 2027 programme will be announced closer to the event.

What ticket passes are available?

Three early-bird tiers: Full pass (€129 — all-access bachata + zouk workshops and parties), Bachata pass (€105, bachata only), and Zouk pass (€105, zouk only). These are limited-time early-bird prices — book your 2027 pass right here on this site.

Can I get a refund or transfer my pass?

Every order has a 24-hour cooling-off window: email us within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked. After that, passes are non-refundable — but you can transfer your pass to another dancer for a €10 name-change fee, up to 7 days before the festival. Full details on the Terms page.

How can I pay?

Checkout runs on Stripe: major debit and credit cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay on supported devices. Prices are in euros (€). Your ticket and receipt arrive by email right after payment, with a QR code for entry.

Who is teaching at Nordic — Social Stars 2027?

The 2027 teaching lineup will be announced soon. For a sense of the calibre, our 2026 edition featured 13 international bachata artists plus 5 zouk artists via the co-located Nordic Zouk Festival. Follow @nordicbachata for the 2027 announcement.

How do I travel to Oslo for the festival?

Fly into Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) — 20 minutes by train into the city. Budget travellers can use Sandefjord Torp (Ryanair, Wizz). Direct trains from Gothenburg and Stockholm connect to Oslo Central, a 5-minute walk to Sentralen.

Where should I stay?

Central Oslo. The city is compact — most central neighbourhoods are 5–20 minutes from Sentralen on foot or by tram. Try Airbnb or Booking.com. Got questions? Reach us on WhatsApp, Instagram (@nordicbachata), or by email.

How many guest dancers attend?

Roughly 30% of attendees are guest dancers — invited social dancers from across Europe and beyond. The ratio is intentional: it raises the social-floor quality without diluting the local community vibe.

What language is the festival in?

English. Workshops, announcements, MC, and all event communications run in English by default.

Is there a zouk festival in Oslo?

Yes — Nordic Zouk Festival runs co-located with Nordic — Social Stars at the same venue (Sentralen, Oslo) on the same dates (July 28 – August 2, 2027). International zouk artists teach workshops through the weekend, and zouk music plays in a dedicated room every night. The Zouk pass (€105 early bird) is available right here on this site.

What zouk workshops are available at the festival?

Zouk workshops run across the weekend at Sentralen, Oslo — fundamentals and head movements through counterbalance, flow, and dynamic combinations, for improvers through advanced dancers. The 2027 zouk lineup, via the co-located Nordic Zouk Festival, will be announced soon.
